Although I share in Mr. Olberman's disgust in the response of the government to this tragedy, I think he was a little off base to criticize this administration specifically for the "inability to keep even one school open" and for the lack of planning to protect New Orleans from such an event. As he said, we have known about the dangers of New Orleans for many years. And in those many years, with both Republican and Democratic administrations, NEITHER party did anything to protect New Orleans from this type of storm. The cost of building up the levies of New Orleans was always one of the first budget cuts any politician made along the logic that "It's been OK this long, let's just hope that nothing happens during MY term". Believe me, I am absolutely appalled that our fucking government couldn't get out of it's own way to at least air-drop food and water to the people who needed it at the convention center and the Superdome. However, I don't think it's fair to blame ALL of the tragedy of this disaster on Bush.
